Flowable Finishing Putty (24oz Squeeze Tube) Two-component, stain-free, tack-free, self-leveling repair putty. Designed for use as a skin coat over plastic filler to fill pinholes, sand scratches, low areas or other imperfections. Works well on galvanized, aluminum and throughly cured and sanded factory-applied paint surfaces. Minimizes staining that can occur with basecoat/clearcoat systems over body filler. This flowable, brushable product cures tack-free in 30 minutes. Use with 3M™ Creme Hardener, part numbers 05829, 05830, or 05831.
Two-component, stain-free, tack-free, self-leveling repair putty. Designed for use as a skin coat over plastic filler to fill pinholes, sand scratches, low areas or other imperfections.
Directions for Use
1. Sand properly cleaned surfaces with grade 80 - 180 abrasive, (Putty will adhere to sand scratches as fine as 320) Blow off with clean compressed air to remove all sanding dust.
2. Mix applicable amount of putty with 2% hardener by weight (or one stripe across a 4" puddle of putty). Mix to a uniform color on a clean non-porous surface spreading thin and pressing air bubbles out as you mix.
3. Apply a "tight" coat pressing putty into defect areas and recoat if needed building slightly higher than the surrounding area.
4. Allow 15 minutes cure time and sand with 150-320 grit abrasive to desired shape. For best results the finish sanded material should not exceed 1/16 inch.
